Silego Technology introduces GreenPAK 2: an NVM programmable logic and mixed signal utility IC as part of their growing CMIC family
Santa Clara, CA – September 5th, 2011 - Silego Technology, Inc announces the GreenPAK2, a 2.5x2.5 mm 12-pin TDFN one-time programmable logic IC with programmable analog components. GreenPAK2 has been designed to operate as a stand alone IC capable of performing many 4-bit and 8-bit microcontroller applications or work in conjunction with Silego’s other CMIC (Configurable Mixed-signal Integrated Circuit) devices; GreenCLK (timing) and GreenFET (power sequencing drivers) product lines to remove up to 25% of all components on larger computation and communication system boards.
GreenPAK ICs are configured with Silego’s free GreenPAK Designer software on either Windows or MAC OS systems using a USB-based GreenPAK programmer or emulation board. The software is intuitive with its graphical configuration of the circuit being designed and requires no programming languages or compliers. Thus, allowing a designer to configure, program, and test their custom GreenPAK in minutes. GreenPAK2 has a 50% increase in the programmable logic cells and digital functions compared to the first generation product, along with greatly expanding the voltage operation (1.8V to 5.5V).
The GreenPAK families as stand alone products often result in lower power consumption due to their asynchronous behavior. The on-board finite state machine, logic, counters, delays, ADC, voltage reference, oscillator, and PWM allow for 1000’s of applications such as proximity/motion/temperature sensor interfaces, LED drivers, motor controllers, touch sensing, and over voltage protection.
GreenPAK is the logic and mixed signal element of Silego’s CMIC (Configurable Mixed-signal Integrated Circuit) Product Family, focusing on “cleaning up the excess” component strategy for large computation and communication system boards. GreenPAKs have been used in designs to remove power on resets, sensor interface ICs, delay/timing logic, power good circuits, capacitors, resistors and other circuit elements with the end result being a lower part count and overall cost savings for the customers.
“Silego’s GreenPAK products are the first ICs that are able to cost effectively remove massive numbers of passive and simple active components from PCB designs improving reliability and reducing procurement issues while saving board area, power, and cost,” said Aron Cooperman, Product Marketing Manager at Silego. “The success of the GreenPAK product family contributes to Silego’s vision of providing a comprehensive suite of ICs that clean up every PCB by reducing component count and simplifying designs.”
Silego provides many options to learn about GreenPAK and GreenPAK2 through live video web support 16 hour per day, training videos in multiple languages, software or by scheduling one-on-one training session with a Silego application engineer to assist with GreenPAK development.

About Silego
Silego designs and sells highly configurable power, logic, and timing mixed signal IC products referred to as CMICs (Configurable Mixed-signal IC Products). The CMIC products integrate medium precision analog components, discrete digital logic, and passive components into highly configurable small, easy to use, low cost ICs. CMIC products provide customers the benefits of reduced system parts count, lower power consumption, less board space and reduced BOM costs. Silego was recognized in 2010 by Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Rising Star ranking as one of the fastest growing technology companies in Silicon Valley.
