Silego Semiconductor, an industry leader in timing generators
broadens its product offering to include a complete line of EMI
(Electro-magnetic Interference) reduction spread spectrum clock
generators. Spread spectrum clock generators are devices that reduce
EMI radiation by spreading clock energy by a fixed amount. The
benefits of a spread spectrum clock generator is that it eliminates
the need for expensive shielding, lowers BOM cost, and speeds the
process of time to market. Spread spectrum clock generators are used
in high speed communications, consumer, and computing applications
including routers, switches, servers, HDTV’s, set-top boxes, base
stations, PCs, and printers. Silego has a complete spread spectrum
clock offering and features an on-board NVM (Non-Volatile Memory)
for quick turn applications, and patent pending FrequencyAware
TM
on certain devices.
Introducing the SLG4421
The SLG4421 is a 1x EMI reduction spread spectrum clock generator
that features industries widest input frequency range of 24MHz to
200MHz, lowest current consumption in its class, and FrequencyAware
TM
. FrequecyAware
TM is a proprietary technology
pioneered by Silego that determines automatically the input
frequency eliminating the need for input selection pins commonly
found on EMI reduction clock generators. The benefits of eliminating
the input selection pins reduces pin count, and speeds time to
market since there is one less thing to worry about.
Introducing the SLG4300/400
The SLG4300/400 are EMI reduction spread spectrum clock generators
that features an on-board (NVM) Non-Volatile Memory for rapid
proto-typing, four general purpose programmable I/O pins, and
FrequencyAware
TM (SLG4400 only.) The SLG4300 is a
general purpose EMI reduction clock that features a wide 64MHz to
500MHz VCO tuning range, whereas the SLG4400 is a general purpose
EMI reduction clock that features a wide 20MHz to 200MHz input clock
driver with FrequecyAware
TM.
“We are extremely excited to offer the SLG4300/400 and SLG4421.
These products helps to reduce overall system cost, and speeds time
to market with the on-board NVM on the SLG4300/400, and
FrequencyAware
TM on the SLG4421,” says Herbe Chun,
Marketing, Silego Semiconductor.
Challenges
EMI reduction clocks poses challenges in maintaining a
symmetrical spread profile, in consuming low power, while extending
the operating input frequency range and VCO frequency range. At
Silego, it is believed that we have met these challenges, and
produced some of the world’s highest performance EMI reduction
clocks.
Price
The SLG4311/2/4/8 and SLG4300/400 are available in 8-pin SOIC priced
at $1.25, and 8-pin TSSOP priced at $1.27, and space savings
3x3x0.75mm3 TDLMP priced at $1.30 each in 1,000 quantities. The
SLG4421 is available in 8-pin SOIC priced at $1.27, and 8-pin TSSOP
priced at $1.29 each in 1,000 quantities.
Samples and Availability
The SLG4300/400 is available in sample quantities to select
customers. General sampling of all other EMI reduction clock
generators including the SLG4421 and standard 1x, 2x, and 4x EMI
reduction clocks (SLG4311/2/4/8) are ready for shipment. Visit
